May God shine an everlasting light on you. Tried to visit you here in Windsor but you had moved. Remember the days when I was little and you would take me shopping. I was one spoiled little girl. Remember staying with you and Uncle Bud when you were first married. I also remember being your flower girl at your wedding. Love you very much Auntie Edna.

Dear Donna and Bill:  I am so sorry about the loss of your mother, knowing at a personal level how hard it is to see our parents passing on.  It makes us feel very vulnerable and alone.  This bond is deep.  I, of course, had the privelege of meeting your mother after she moved to Ottawa and saw how close you and Bill were to her.  Hers was truly a life well lived and you were blessed to be able to have her so close to you in her final years.  May that give you enduring memories and peace in the years to come.  Kiran

My most sincere and heartfelt sympathy I extend to the dear Family and Friends of Mrs. Edna Shaw. As the niece of Mr.& Mrs. Ted and Gladys Burt, my many visits to Ottawa included dining with Mrs. Shaw, both before and after the passing of Aunt Gladys. What a wonderful friend Mrs Shaw was to my Aunt Gladys! Always a kind word, always a friendly smile, always a touch of humor! I will always remember, with joy, the ice cream cone and fall folliage tour the three of us took together. I learned much about Edna`s life...the importance of her precious husband, nuclear family, extended family and friends. Her life experiences read like an interesting book...one that one could just not put down. Edna visited Aunt Gladys in hospital and attended her funeral... always the supportive and sympathetic friend! I know Edna with be remembered dearly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. To precious Family and Friends... I pray that Our Heavenly Father will Bless you Abundantly, Protect you unceasingly and Guide you unerringly... in thought, word and act. Our sincere sympathy at the passing of your dear Mom and Grandma!  We enjoyed Edna very much, she had a great sense of humour and never ran out of stories to tell about her life, husband, children, grandchildren, recipes and special dinners she used to make, along with fashions and past and current events.  
We had lunch and dinner with her many many times over almost a year as she sat with Gladys Burt at Governor's Walk.  She was always welcoming and we enjoyed meeting her daughter and husband as they visited faithfully.
She even came to the hospital to see Gladys and attended Gladys' funeral last February 2011.  I dropped in to see her a few times in the last year, she was a very dear person and will be missed I am sure not only by her family but the people and staff at Governor's Walk.

I'm sorry for your lost Donna . Your mom was so very kind  lady . I' ll miss our talks about  ( daughters ) at the Governor's  Walk  whenever I was there ; she was the last to leave the dinning room . I consider my self very fortunate  to get to know mrs. Shaw.

My sympathy. Your Mom was the sweetest. I got to know her while at the Day Program in Windsor. Over my year contract I met so many wonderful people including your Mom, "chickie" as she was known. I looked forward to those days to see her smiling face.

Dear Lynn, Dayle and Donna;
I want to extend my sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. My last memory of her was when Helen Bergeron and myself visited her in Windsor.  She was a kind women, and everyone's mom. 
I wasn't aware that she lived here in Ottawa, since this has been my home for over 20 plus years.
