I have known Don for the past 3-4 years. I first met him at a public swim at Atkinson Park. He was a regular swimmer and everyone there liked him and knew that he took great care of his health. In fact, the first time I met him he beat me in a race! He was a very friendly, caring and fun person. I was shocked when I heard the news. He will never be forgotten.

So sorry to here about Scotty and my condolences to his family. Myself and the crew of our ship met him when we started sailing in the area and were grabbing our morning coffee at Tims.  We would drop off a newspaper and have a chat with Scotty and see what mischief he was up too.  That and see the running "battle" between him and Bill. Scotty was one of those people you enjoyed talking with and always expected that he would be around for ever.  He will be missed by all of us.

Barb and Family, Your friends at Central United Church are so sorry for your loss. We were shocked to hear the news.

Whenever I worked in Windsor which sometimes was ever other week, a week at a time, we would always stop at Timmy's for a day starting dose of caffeine.  On those days when we got there too late and Scotty was already gone, we just felt like we had been cheated.  As a police officer it is always fun to have someone like Scotty to speak to who truly appreciated what it is we do and shared some of our same frustrations with society today.   He was a lot of fun and he will be missed by all who knew him.  His family while sad should also take great pride in the fact that they were part of making this person the great man that he was. It is rare to hear of someone like Scotty, it is rarer still to have known someone like Scotty. I feel truly privileged and honoured to have been able to call him a friend.  Rest easy my friend.

My sympathies to Scotty's family.  I'm sure there isn't anything I could say that hasn't already been said about what a wonderful man Scotty is.  I worked with Scotty at Chrysler's and would often pass him on his walk down by the river.  It was such a pleasure to see him every time, as he would always have a big smile on his face and a hug for me when he saw me.   This is a great loss for many people.  My prayers are with you.

To the entire 'Anderson Family' please accept my deepest condolences, 'Scotty' was a real man, a great friend...I met him in 2003,at Tim Hortons(University Ave./Windsor)I was rehabing from a serious stroke/brain aneurism, he was most interesting, had a sparkle in his eyes & was the type of guy I needed as a friend & aquaintence(we were both 67)..several yrs. later I saw him many times speed walking in DT Windsor...he always a big smile, a positive attitude, time for a friendly chat...the other day I was thinking I hadn't seen him for quite a while...then I read today's Star, saw his picture...so hard to believe...what a great man...one of the ' most genuine people' I've met in my life. What better can a person wish for, than to be loved by all...surely God will have a special place for him...may you rest in peace 'Scotty', thanks for being my friend.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Don was a wonderful person! I had the pleasure of knowing him from Atkinson pool; he was always the first in the pool, and always paying for kids who couldn't afford to go swimming. He was always so kind to the staff and made a point to say hi to every single one of us when he came in. Atkinson won't be the same without him!

Connie and Jim send their condolences to the Robertson family. We were aqua fitness friends from Adie Knox pool and shared many a good time with SCOTTY in the water. He has a real gentleman. Don't know who will pick up all the pool toys now.

Scotty and I crossed paths regularly on the bike path. If not, it would be at the Tim Hortons in the morning. He was always sitting at the same seat, greeting us as we came in and out. I'm sad to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace; now heaven has an official greeter.

I met Scotty several years ago at Tim Hortons.  He was a friendly and very caring man with an infectious smile that I will always remember.  My condolences to his family on the loss of such a special man.

I was very sorry to hear this.  My condolences to the Robertson family.  I met Donald at my aquafit class and we immediately became good friends.  His stories of Scotland (my homeland too) were wonderful to hear.  He was always thoughtful and funny and had a smile on his face.  He will be fondly remembered by the gang at our pool.  His obituary tells of a man who loved life and gave so much of himself to others.   He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

I've known Donaled Robertson since I was 2years old. He was a close friend of my family, since I was little and I've referred to him as "Uncle Scotty" for years on. Sotty was always so warm and kind to me and my family and meant the world to us. He was like family to us, and whenever I saw him, I was always guaranteed a wrm hug. I loved him dearly. The last time I saw him was at Tim Horton's down the street where I live (on Bruce and University), and got the usual warm hug from him. He kindly asked how my schooling was going and always wanted to see that I was happy. I can't believe he's gone now. My parents and I are still in a state of shock. "Uncle Scotty", I love you and I'll miss you so much.

Mr. Robertson will definitely be missed. He was always wonderful to talk to, often had a story to tell, and was so generous to bring donuts each year to the Scottish Club for us during the Multicultural festival.

I looked forward seeing him to at the pool.  As one of the "young ones" (lol) he was always so gracious to us. May you be comforted by knowing that he was a treasure to many who only knew him briefly.
