67 years, of Windsor, Ontario, peacefully passed away on August 14, 2020 after a heroic battle with cancer. Alan was born in Lodi, California, USA on December 5, 1953. He graduated from Lodi High School and continued to receive a Psychiatric Technician Degree from Delta College. Alan married Wade Griffith on December 31, 1999 in San Francisco, California and were married for 21 Years. Alan worked in his favorite job as a Telephone Operator at GTE in San Jose, California. He continued working and enjoyed life travelling the world whenever possible. He never met a stranger and always had a great smile that everyone came to love. Alan was a kind and gentle soul that would be the voice of reason when someone needed it. He will be greatly missed. Alan loved his dog Roscoe and was actively involved in several animal rescue organizations. Alan is survived by his spouse Wade Griffith, his mother Jean Ring, brother Bruce Ring, sister-in-law Inge Ring, niece Elena and her husband Jack, and other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society.
