Wade Hampton Jackson

Wade Hampton Jackson, age 67, of Winder, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Wade was born on Nov. 15,1945 to the late J.H. “Buck” and Hallie Staggs Jackson. Also preceding him in death were his son, Wade Jackson, Jr. and his brother, Harold Jackson. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Charlsa Alexander Jackson of Winder; his son, Ben(Amber) Jackson of Jefferson, GA; a daughter-in-law, Kristi Jackson of Roswell, GA; two brothers, John and Perry Jackson, both of Winder; and three grandchildren, Claire Altman, Savanna Jackson, and Robert Jackson. Wade was a lifelong resident of Winder where he began his work life with his father in Gulf Oil. He later worked at Cherokee Mfg. and later in other sales and customer service positions. Wade was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His warm smile and sense of humor brightened the world, and he never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed one. He lived out his faith in God by serving others in his family, his community, his church, and in civic organizations. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Reverend Donnie Pennington officiating.
