I got to know “Sister Nell” years ago through the fellowship meetings at Archer Grove Holiness Church/and Bethel Holiness Church. . My sons were just 
teenagers and the  young people became dear friends to my boys and remain friends to this day. I appreciated this friendship because they were good Christian young people!

My sons  Nick and Ray would look forward to those meetings each year and in participating in the guitar and banjo “gospel bluegrass jam sessions” with y’all’s young people after service.  Good times and precious memories.

 And several of their lifelong friends from those early meetings would help our family through one of the saddest days of our lives when they came to sing in 2020 at my son Ray’s funeral and helped at the graveside. 

I never got to just sit and talk to Sister Nell at the meetings because we church women know as soon as the last prayer is said and everyone dismissed  expect a whole lot of hungry people. And the  women of both churches would pitch in together and  serve   the  most wonderful food. Sister Nell was a hard worker and I could tell she and the other women could not rest until everyone was fed! And we all know there is then the “dishes”!

 It did not go unappreciated that part of a meeting is just as important as every sermon preached and every song sung! 
Even Jesus made sure the multitudes were fed!

But I remember 25 years later “Nell’s Strawberry cake”!  My favorite that my mama made for my birthday every year and Sister Nell’s cake is the only one that I had ever tasted that reminded me of the one my Mama made! . 

I lost my dear mama on 2/6 last week so I know Sister Sheila  how deep this hurts! I find comfort we will see our mama’s  again in Heaven. Praying for you and your dear family.  We are grateful for what you all at Archer Grove and Bethel Holiness Church have meant to our family through the years!

I have so many precious memories of Nellie Belle. We were the best of friends and Sisters in the Lord ! We went everywhere together and had so much fun it would take a book to tell everything. Precious memories I will always treasure. I’ll never forget her . She will always be in my heart till I meet her again in Heaven at that great reunion day. Rest in Jesus’ arms sweet Nell.
