Nelson Huff

Nelson Huff age 75 of Winder, entered into rest Sunday, March 13, 2016. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, where he was also Deacon. Nelson retired as a police officer with The City of Winder after 30 years of service, where he had many rewards and achievements. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Gladys Cleaton Huff and a brother, Jimmy Huff. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Newton Huff of Winder; two sons, Johnny and Michael Huff of Winder; a daughter, Rosalind McElroy (Neal) of Bogart; a brother, Dennis Huff of Winder; eight grandchildren, Brittany McElroy, Brandon, Josh, Chad, Shane, Mason, Justin and Dustin Huff and seven great-grandchildren, Channing Wade, Logan, Tyler, Cameron, McKenzie, Ashton and Kylee Huff. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral Services will be at 2:00PM Thursday, March 17, 2016 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Aaron officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Morningside Baptist Church.
