Margaret Burns Stepp

March 1929- December 2016

God called her home on Thursday, December 8, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Curtis V. and Lela Bane Burns, beloved wife of the late Willard Sidney Stepp (1992) of East Flat Rock, NC; an awesome mother, and a true friend. She was an active WWMU and member of Midway United Methodist Church of Auburn, GA.She was born in Breavrd, NC; lived in Zirconia, NC; Tuscumbia, Al; Knoxville, TN; East Flat Rock, NC; and has resided in Auburn, GA since 2004.

Surviving are daughters, Connie Allison of Zebulon, NC; Pat and husband Michael Feagan of Lawrenceville, GA; sisters, Irene D’Aguanno of Ocala, FL, Virginia West of Hendersonville, NC, Annie Stein of St. Petersburg, Fl, and Carolyn Bowse of Redlands, CA; four grandchildren; Joseph Shipman of Mills River, NC, Terri Bray of Cody, WY, Kristi Wright of Buford, GA, and Lesli Wright of Bethlehem, GA; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Mrs. Dovie Blythe; special friends, Mrs. Lousie Hutchins and Mrs. Ann Fulcher, as well as many other loving friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Adger and Joe Burns; and sister, Hazel Lanning.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Smith Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday December 10, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tracy Grove Road, Hendersonville, NC officiated by Kaylen Short.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 215 Kilcrease Rd. Auburn, GA 30011. Please designate building fund.
