Linda Gail Rain, age 65 of Cumming, passed away on January 31, 2024. Gail was born in Athens to the late Shelby Jean Griffeth Mallory and Eddie Glen Mallory. She attended Jefferson High School and Georgia Military College. Gail was a Master Cosmetologist having earned her degree from Athens Technical College. She had been a longtime manager of Great Clips and had her own salon at home. Gail loved traveling and especially loved time spent at the beach. She had two beloved furbabies, Precious and Toby.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Lisa Meeks of Athens; sister, Lynn (Rick) Yother of Cuming; and two grandchildren: Colby and Shelby Meeks.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, from noon until 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel with the burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens. In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that donations be made in memory of Gail to your local animal shelter.
