John Claude Wallace Jr., age 61, of Conyers, GA, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013. “Johnny” to most of his family and friends, was born January 9, 1952 in Barrow County where he lived for many years. He graduated from Winder-Barrow High School and attended The University of Georgia before joining the Navy. From 1973 to 1974, Johnny served on the USS Midway. Johnny was a carpenter for over thirty years working all over the Atlanta area. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Wallace Sr. and Desma Everett Wallace; and a nephew, John D. Bailey. Survivors include his sisters, Brenda (Glenn) Bailey of Covington, Charlene Wallace of Villa Rica, Janet (Danny) Hill of Villa Rica, Pamela Moore of Jefferson, Kim (Morris) Lupton of Greensboro; two nephews, Dustin and Christopher Hill; a niece, Penny Haun; many great nieces and nephews; and his faithful friend Jumper. Johnny was not just a brother, but a wonderful friend that will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, prior to the memorial service. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home.
