Joe Durall Day, 66 of Winder, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was a lifetime resident of Barrow County and a graduate of Winder-Barrow High School. Joe retired from Ricoh Electronics and spent most of his days as an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing and everything in between.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Wilma Gilreath Day; and two sisters: Jackie Roberts and Wonda Day. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Carol Graver of Winder; a daughter, Mary Tait of Binghamton, NY; his sister, Gail Wiley (Billy) of Statham; two grandchildren: Tammy Copeland (William) and Buddy Tait; and two great grandchildren: Alexis and William Copeland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held from 5PM until 9PM Monday, October 14, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral services will be at 4PM Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in Chapel Christian Church Cemetery at a later date.
