Joanne Garrett Ward, 76 of Maysville, passed away, Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Monroe and retired as a payroll clerk for Barrow Manufacturing. Some of Joanne’s hobbies included walking, reading, and watching The Hallmark Channel and she had to have her vanilla Ice cream and Diet Coke.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Florene Clark Garrett; her husband of 28 years, William Raymond Ward, Sr.; her son, William Raymond Ward, Jr.; her daughter, Melissa Joanne Harp and a brother, Larry Lee Garrett. She is survived by her sisters, Diane Ford of Maysville and Carolyn Mathis (Tony) of Campton; grandchildren, Whitney and Justin Hunter; and great-grandchildren: Christiana, Keira, Isabella, and Jana Hunter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday, January 4, 2023 in the chapel of Smith Funeral home, Winder, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12PM until service hour. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
