Brian Joseph "Poz" Pozowicz, age 33, of Winder, Georgia passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Brian was born in Bayshore, New York to Joseph Alexander and Donna Jean Pozowicz on May 2, 1990. He lived in New York until his family relocated to Georgia in 2001. Brian was a 2008 graduate of Apalachee High school in Winder, Georgia where he excelled in athletics, most notably tennis, wrestling, and football. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the New York Giants. In his early adulthood, Brian spent time in Florida before relocating to Georgia. He attended Bethlehem Church in Winder. Brian had a heart of gold and he will be remembered for his contagious smile and his willingness to always help those in need. His family and friends remember him as a fearless jokester who was always whistling, singing and clapping. Brian was full of energy and always on the move.
Brian Joseph Pozowicz is survived by his significant other, Jessica Newton; step-daughter, Layla Parham; mother, Donna Jean Pozowicz; father, Joseph Alexander (Monica) Pozowicz; sisters: Cassie Lynn (Wesley) Downey and Heather Diane (Josh Stewart) Pozowicz; nieces: Emalyn Presley Downey, Blakely Lane Downey, and Lilah Mae Stewart; his two cats: Jaxxson and Max; his puppy: Willow (a Morkie Poo who he affectingly called “Bruce Willow”); and a host many, many close friends.
A viewing for family and friends of Brian will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm followed by a visitation from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia.
Minister Alwon Mayweather will be officiating. Zach Greeson, Nick Fulcher, Dave Robb, Nick Mollica, Kyle Schubnell, Pace Easterling, Daniel McConnell, and Danny Mollica will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family is requesting that attendees wear sports team apparel (jerseys, polos and t-shirts). In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in Brian’s memory to the Animal Humane Society.
