Nancy A. DeMars December 10, 1937 – October 13, 2016 Nancy A. DeMars, 78, of Sims, NC and formerly of Saranac Lake, died Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Avante at Wilson Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wilson, NC. Nancy was born December 10, 1937, in Holyoke, MA, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mildred (Connor) Wojciak. She married Kenneth DeMars June 16, 1956 in Syracuse, NY. She had worked at the A.M.A., the Saranac Lake Schools as a bus driver, Paul Smith’s College and retired from St. Joseph’s Rehab Center. Nancy, or “Meme” as she was known by her grandchildren, was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved getting together with her family and friends. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Kenneth DeMars; four sons, Kevin of Rutland, VT, Keith and wife, Deanna, of Fayetteville, AR, Kraig and wife, Ana, of Bushkill, PA, and Kristopher of NY; two daughters, Kim Monteith and husband, Bill, of Sims, NC and Karrie McAvoy and husband, Dave, of Winsted, CT; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jeanne DeMars; five brothers, James, Donald, David, Neil and Stanley; and two sisters, Jean and Dorothy.
