Carol Richardson Long, age 61, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at UNC Nash Hospital. She was born August 14, 1962 to the late Greely Lee Richardson and Peggy Jean Delbridge King, and was preceded by her husband, Michael Philip Long.
Carol loved gardening, cooking, and politics. She loved when her kids would surprise her with a visit, loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson. She was definitely a Harley girl. She was a member of Moose Lodge #989.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Daniel West and his wife Erika West, both of Wilson, NC; Stephen Rodwell, and his wife Tia, both of Spokane, WA; Her daughters: Kristen Steinbughl, and her husband Tyler Steinbugl, both of Raleigh, NC; Misty Marshburn, and her husband Casey Marshburn, of Summerville, SC;. Carol had many grandchildren she dearly loved. Chronologically: Emma Rodwell, age 11, Braxton West, age 10, Macy Marshburn, age 9, Oliver Rodwell, age 8, Bryce Marshburn, age 5, Savana Steinbugl, newborn, and Greyson Lee West (soon to arrive); as well as her life partner, Roy Percise of Wilson, and their fur babies, Cleo and Sissy.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11am in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, with Bill Houston officiating. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the services at the graveside.
