Tommy was born on April 19, 1937 in Pender Co., NC. Tommy served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Louisiana Pacific for over 27 years. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid golfer.
Tommy is survived by loving wife of 33 years, Betty Evans Merritt; Children: Thomas B. Merritt and his wife Patricia, Keith Provencher, Bruce Provencher, Steven Provencher and his wife Tina, Tony Provencher and Lisa Provencher and her fiancé, Leroy Dean; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a special friend, Barbara Britt.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00pm on Friday November 15, 2013 at Coble Ward- Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403.
Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive Wilmington, NC 28409 with Military Honors by American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
