Minnie Foy Vowell

Minnie Foy Vowell died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 7, 1921 in Maple Hill, NC to the late Henry and Lottie Foy. Minnie is also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Otto Foy.

Minnie is survived by her daughters, Linda Stroh, husband CC, of Beaufort, SC; Marilyn Scott, husband Leon, of Wilmington, NC; Margaret Laws, husband Ed, of Bolivia, NC; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Juanita Farrow and sister-in-law Maria “Tony” Foy, nieces, great nieces and nephews.

Minnie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, camping and meeting friends.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. We would like to thank the staff at Elderhaus PACE for the great care provided to our mother. We would also like to thank the home care givers, Erica and Tony, that assisted us at home and a dear friends, Larry and Sonyia that transported her to and from PACE each day.

Visitation will be held at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Dr., Wilmington, from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington.
