Beloved husband of the late Elaine Fitzpatrick Totaro, devoted father of Joanne Garcia and son-in-law Julio Garcia and Michelle O’Donnell and son-law Keith O’Donnell, loving Grandfather of Michael Garcia and his wife Gabrielle Garcia, Kaitlyn Varanyak and her husband Thomas Varanyak, Amanda Garcia and Kyle O’Donnell, loving Great-Grandfather of Wyatt Thomas Varanyak, Dear Brother of Anna King and her husband Donald King.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Peter Totaro and Mary Cemelli Totaro. Michael is also survived by his companion of 5 years Marge McDonald of Wilmington, North Carolina.
He was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in North Bergen and Saint Josephs Church of Oradell and presently of Pine Valley United Methodist Church where he donated several hours to cook for parishioners and the needy. Michael was a former member of the New Milford/Teaneck Elks Lodge and the Bergenfield Elks Lodge and presently the Wilmington Elks Lodge as well as the American Legion. He enjoyed being a Parrott Head with the Pleasure Island Parrott Heads and enjoyed fishing and hunting with the Black River Hunting Club. He enjoyed travelling to many places through his 77 years of life and mostly spending time with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the Pine Valley United Methodist Church at 3788 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, North Carolina or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
There will be a service on March 18, 2022 2:00pm at Pine Valley United Methodist Church and a Celebration of Life on April 30, 2022 with a graveside service at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus followed by a gathering at the Bergenfield Elks Lodge.
Arrangements are being handled by Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, North Carolina.
