Michael Leonard Clemmons, Sr., 65 of Leland passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023. He was born January 28, 1958 in Fort Stewart, Georgia to Robert Hobson Clemmons Jr. and Louise Moore Clemmons, both deceased.
Michael had an Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement and was a retired Sergeant with Wilmington Police Department.
Sergeant Clemmons is survived by his wife Jan Thomas Clemmons of Leland, NC; daughter Hannah Matthews and husband Justin of Leland, NC; sons: Michael Clemmons Jr. of Wilmington and Sampson Clemmons of Leland, NC; brothers: Robert Clemmons and wife Terry of Iowa and Tim Clemmons of VA.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Oakdale Cemetery with Pastor Frank King officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The River of Life Worship Center, PO Box 4024, Wilmington, NC 28406 or Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
