Mary Ruth Wilkins

Mary Ruth Fowler Wilkins, 81, of Town Creek Road, Leland died Monday October 3, 2016 at the home of Steve and Kim Wilkins at White Lake, NC. where she was provided care by her son and daughter in-law and Lower Cape Fear Hospice Home Care.

Mrs. Wilkins was born in Rockingham, NC on April 10, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Polie Lee and Mary Hayes Fowler. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Wilkins Sr., a daughter, Mary Thomas and granddaughter Allie Wilkins.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Wilkins Jr. and wife Becky of Leland, Steve Wilkins and wife Kim of White Lake; two sisters, Lucille Clemmons of Wilmington, Maggie McCullum of White Oak; a brother, Dewey Fowler of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 5, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Dr., Wilmington and other times at 2449 Town Creek Rd., Leland.

Funeral services will be held Thursday October 6, 2016 at 3pm at the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Ron Capps officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Wilkins Jr., Steve Wilkins, Brandon Wilkins, Matthew Wilkins, Troy Payne, Mark Phillips.
