Dear Sally and family,
So sorry to hear about Howard's passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  The four years at Georgetown were filled with many memories which will not be forgotten.  They started the first day there at a picnic in the park and continued through the remaining years in DC.  Although separated by time and distance, Howard will always hold a special place in my heart.  He will always be remembered as a good friend and a great doctor.

Dean and I send our sincere condolences to you.  We were so sad to hear that Howard has passed away.  I have such fond memories of him from when I worked in Radiology at Holy Cross Hospital.  He was always such a gentleman and well liked by physicians and staff alike.  Our daughter, Sharon, shared that she fondly remembers babysitting for Amanda and Tony! I was very saddened when I became aware of his passing. Dr. Howard  and I shared a friendship and close working relationship while I conducted PET scans at Affiliated PET Systems at the time he was with Clinical Radiologists and stayed in contact with him at Kaiser.  I have the utmost respect for his  mentorship and support of the Mid Eastern Chapter Technologist Section. I am honored to have been able to grow within our PET imaging practice together and will remember him always.

Dear Sally, I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathies to you and your family. I had known Howard for over 30 years, initially as a radiologist at Holy Cross, and more recently playing poker at Rick’s.  He was a great radiologist, always helpful reviewing  films with me. I came to know Howard while he was a resident at Georgetown and I was at GW.  We periodically interacted at various radiology meetings and  subsequently with the very occasional phone call to discuss a case or when running into each other at a local store.

Howard was an intelligent, caring physician whose opinion I respected in addition to being a warm individual with a good sense of humor.

I was extremely saddened to learng of his passing while reading  the Washington Post.

Howard was the first person we met upon moving to North Carolina.  On the Pickleball courts of Brunswick Forest, he was intentional about making us comfortable, and welcome.

Howard was a kind, and gentile soul.  He made you feel important.  He listened.  He remembered.  He touched everyone he met.  He was a true friend.  

Everyone, and I mean everyone, knew Howard.  If they were only aquatinted with him, if you described him to someone, they would readily light up and realize knowing him.  He made that impact - with everyone he came in contact with.

As it was difficult to watch the last few months, his demeanor and attitude was always positive.  I never saw a selfish, angry, or depressed Howard.  He always asked about me, my family, and my interests.  It was never about him.  Every time. 

We are both sad for Sally and the family.  We have all been robbed losing Howard so soon.

We will miss Howard a great deal.  But we will never forget his humble, calming, caring way.  

His friendship is already missed.

I first met Dr D when I was a student and then had the pleasure of working with him for several years at Clinical Radiologists.  Always a smile and kind words. His favorite lunch at work was an Italian sub from Marchones.  He will be missed but fondly remembered. Love and prayers for Sally and Amanda and Tony

Howard was my best friend for over 44 years. It still seems surreal that he is not here but he is in spirit.  He loved this place and so I am very grateful that our Leland home was his final resting place

My heartfelt condolences to Sally and the family. One of my favorite things about making medical rounds at Holy Cross Hospital was stopping in the radiology department to see Howard. I appreciated his expertise in interpreting X-Rays,  but I especially looked forward to hearing his  views on a great variety of current issues. Out of the hospital we had great times at Rick Oristan’s  Friday night poker games. 
He was an outstanding person and a great friend.

I have many fond memories of Howard. We worked together at MAPMG, he was a great colleague and even better friend.  He was always helpful and willing to lend an ear. If I was having a difficult day, Howard would take time out to listen, and he would give great advice.  I am glad I had the chance to know him, and he will be greatly missed.
