Glenn Leslie Wood

He was born in Clinton, TN on June 12th, 1930 to Myrtle and David A. Wood Jr. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Elaine Rogers, daughter Glenda Morrissey, grandchildren Adam, Janelle and Daniel, and his beloved wife of 56 years, Audrey F Wood.

Glenn worked a long and rewarding career for the Southern Bell Telephone Company, starting as a lineman in the early fifties and worked his way into upper management from which he retired in 1982. An avid outdoorsman, after retirement he spent his time fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Well known for his marksmanship, Glenn earned numerous awards through shooting competitions. He was an active member of the Elks Club and the Telephone Company Pioneers.

Glenn is survived by his sister: Joan Van Tilburg of Raleigh, NC, sons: Gary Wood (wife Vivian) of Redondo Beach, CA and David Wood (wife Denise) of Boise, ID, step-sons: Ivon James (wife Jayne Ann) and Russell James of Wilmington, NC in addition to 13 grandchildren (Shawn, Jennifer, Casey, Ali, Sheila, Marilynn, Kendra, Ruthanne, Billi, Shelby, Sara, Bradley, and Katie), 22 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

A private family interment service will take place July 9th, 2021 at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
