Gene was born on May 22, 1943 in Dublin Co., NC. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mamie Hobbs Padgett and his brother, Horace Padgett.
Survived by his wife, Bobbie Padgett; daughter, Karen Bordeaux (Chris); son, Damon Eugene Padgett; stepdaughter, Debbie Durham(Larry); sisters, Delaine Milliken(Jack), Stella Cowan(Dick);grandchildren, Aubrey, Alex, and Ashley; niece, Debbie; nephews, Horace, Jr., Michael, George Padgett and Kevin Milliken. Also survived by his Great Love was his Tilston school family where he attended Jr. High.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 3, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Seaside Chapel, 100 S.8th St Carolina Beach, NC 28428 with Pastor Ronnie Conner officiating.
