Edward E. Lewis, 87, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013. He was a precious man born into a lonely orphanage, who left this world loved by all he met. Edward was born in Rome, NY and grew up in Lowville, NY.
He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was a master craftsman, but will be remembered as a loving father and the world’s best grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maybell Bryant Lewis.
He is survived by his son, Edward Earl Lewis (Jackie); daughter, Pat Edwards; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl Pearce, Scott Edwards, Greg Lewis, Gene Malpass, Charlene Mumford, Jennifer Burrows; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
