Edward James Fox Jr, age 85, of Leland, North Carolina passed away on January 12, 2024, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on September 11, 1938, to Edward James Fox Sr. and Theresa Almeda Goulet Fox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Edward James Fox III, his son; Steven Ciapciak, his grandson; and Joan Savage, his sister.
Edward is survived by Pauline T. Fox, his wife; Susan A. Fox, daughter and David T. Gallagher, son-in-law; Diane M. Beaulieu, daughter and Raymond Beaulieu, son-in-law; Raymond M. Fox, son and Michelle Snowden, fiancée; Anthony Giannantonio, Daniel Beaulieu, Nicholas Beaulieu, Courtnie Ciapciak and Kelly Ciapciak, grandchildren; Daphne Giannantonio and Eddie Giannantonio, great grandchildren; and his brother, William Fox.
Edward was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Edward was a former gas station owner and career truck driver who won multiple National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC), demonstrating his skill, knowledge and professionalism. He was unpretentious, hard-working, down to earth, and always willing to help anyone at any time. Edward was creative and talented, and a great mechanic who enjoyed restoring and detailing cars. Edward also enjoyed woodworking and building elaborate car and truck models. Edward was not necessarily a wealthy man, but he often said his wealth was his family, and that the love of his family meant more than all the money in the world.
