My favorite thing to do with him was when I would sit in his chair with him and chill. But I know that he is in a better place.

Today the Good Lord made a perfect day to send my Pal  off on his voyage to Heaven on high.   I will miss my friend , likely all the days of my life.   It was a great celebration  of his life.Quiet and understated with much love and appreciation of family,  just like him .  With his favorite music and the people from his entire life.  I finally got to meet several nephews from Alabama.  It was a joy and honor to hear more of his early life with them .  In honor of Dan , I came home and immediately mixed up a third of a cup of peanut butter syrup.   I did not have pancakes, I gave it a northern twist to symbolize our friendship .   I think he would have loved to dip a big Pennsylvanian style soft pretzel.   It was so good, and it brought an incredible feeling of release and joy to  my heart.  Peanut Butter Syrup from the Richey family of Alabama.   Thank you , God's Peace!!!



I met Dan in 1976 working for him at National Linen Service. Teacher, Friend, Brother. I will miss his smile, laugh and Friendship for the rest of my life. Had a lot of good times and he was always there for me. God bless him and family. 

Some memories of Danny,  my "cool" uncle. When I was in elementary school he was still in high school and I thought it was great to have an uncle that was a "football star" (in my eyes).  Also when I was in elementary school he gave me and my sister and brother our first record player and some of his records. It made us feel very grown-up and flipped the switch that turned me into a music junkie.  Not many years later when he would come home on leave from the Navy he would take me and my older sister to the drive-in and laugh just as hard as we did at the Road Runner cartoons.  
When he was "home" (Alabama) last summer I didn't get to see him, but I did talk to him. He said it was his last trip here...he wouldn't be coming back for a yearly visit. I told him I love him and WOULD see him again......and I will.

Dan was a fine man,he always had a joke to tell.He will be missed by many.Teresa you have many good memories of your life together.God and time are great healers!Love you,Cindy and Don♥️🙏

One of the best , We have known each other since national linen days , over all 25+ years. He and Jeremy worked on some of my most difficult challenges with equipment in the business. I will for ever remember what he taught both Jeremy and I. Talked to him by phone up to a month ago about issues I had. Thank you all for allowing me to sit with him and tell him what his friendship and guidance meant to me. Very difficult time. I feel like I know much about your family as you all were always on his mind and loved to talk about and take pride in each of you. God Bless Him and may God's Peace be with him and   all of his family and friends. I will be cheering for Bama for you Dan!


When me an Law moved down here I struggled as a single dad with family 2 hrs away. Dan became a good friend an advisor to me. He became a grandfather to Law (as Law saw him). He even guided me down the path to my beautiful wife, and took our wedding pictures. We all will miss you. Here is a picture of Law’s second grade grandparents day Dan went to for him.

Uncle Danny,  was his title,  but he was more than that to this family. To me growing up he was like a big brother. When we spent the night with his parents my grandparents, or would visit on Saturday morning, Mawmaw always made pancakes for breakfast, and to this day if Dan made them for breakfast, he would send a photo of them, and I did the same, of course they were covered with peanut butter and syrup. Dan you will truly be missed. But you are home now with all your brothers, sisters, parents, son and grandson.  Rest High on that Mountain. 

Danny and I were Cousins. His Dad and my Grandpa were Brothers. Though I was 7 years older, we were raised going to church together  and grew us in Florence, Al. He wished my Jim and me Happy Anniversary every year online and reminded me that he remembered my wedding at Central Baptist Church.                                         I never met you Teresa, but saw pictures of your and Danny's wedding. he adored you and your family.  I grieve along with you today but know he is happy, laughing and enjoying his family in Heaven with his Jesus. My prayers are with you for comfort and for peace.
