My momma  the past year has been hard. I have watched dad hurt and I have felt such a void. I feel the closest to you at the beach. Every time I look out there in the water I know you are right with me. It’s hard to even let myself think about the way you were tortured. When I do it makes life seem like such a cruel road. I hope you’re smiling and laughing up there momma.  I hope you’re listening to everyone like you listened here I hope you hear me every night when I pray with the kids and I pray for you. I love you sweet momma.

I just learned recently that Jetta passed on.  She was a true friend.  I met Jetta at HealthSouth and we had many lunchtime conversations.  Even after she moved out of the area we would catch up when she’d visit PA.  She was one of a kind: sweet, caring, loyal and fun.  I loved hearing the stories of her daughters then grandchildren.  I am sad but know she is in a better place!  I’m blessed to have known her.  

Beautiful, sweet Aunt Jetta, how you set such a wonderful example of being a great mother, mammy & all around wonderfully genuine human being. There are  so many memories that flood my mind when I think of you. Family times & holidays of my youth spent with your family & Aunt Sandy's were the best! 

Everything you did was done so neat and beautiful. I remember when I had Cami & you offered to make pot pie for us. When I opened the lid, every  pot pie noodle was cut to perfection with wavy edges from a pastry cutter, all the potatoes and carrots were the same size, it was a work of art...everything you did was that way. 

I remember the stockings you made for the grandkids & you would call my mom from the store, laboring over the decision for the perfect fabric or thread. You wanted every one to be just right. There was love in everything you did & I was lucky enough to know you & be your niece. I will cherish the cross stitch you made for me & gave me on my wedding day, every stitch is perfect. It hangs in my living room & I think of you each time I glance over and see it. 

There are some people that touch your life in a way you never forget, & you are one of those people for me. xoxo

mammy, you are so loved and so missed by each and every one of us . I can picture the way you smile , the way you cooked , the bathing suits you would wear to the pool, the way your hair sat by your shoulders, all the things you would make for the kids , and of course your cookies. I will hold on tight to my “ mammy blanket “ . I can remember this one moment when I had just finished taking a bath in the big tub with the big jets  and I went into your closet and was looking at all your clothes and hats . I wish I could hear you laugh one more time or hug you one more time but I know you are waching over us all . 

Our mammy. I remember the icing and sprinkles on your famous cookies. I remember your big teeth and even bigger smile. I remember the claw clips you would put in your hair along with the hoop earrings you would wear. I remember the way you would decorate for Christmas. We would all play with the houses and little people. I remember the one time you came back from a walk and we read the newspaper together. You smelled like the outside and I was trying to eat my cereal. I loved the way you spoke. And listened to me so carefully. I learn more about you everyday through stories of you young and old. Ever since you passed, the sunsets have been extra beautiful. Mammy and Poppy’s house will always be a place I look forward to going to. We all miss you so much Mammy. 

My dearest friend, Jetta! God has blessed us with a special friendship and bond for the past 68 years since kindergarten. We have shared so many emotions of laughter and tears. Memories immeasurable!
Remember those youthful sleep overs giggling over crazy things, eating those hard beer pretzels that almost broke our teeth, leaving a sheet of salt. Standing on top of your VW in your dad's farm field
picking and eating those delicious dark cherries til we had stomach
aches but tasted too good to stop. Being your maid of honor at your
wedding! You looked beautiful as always! Space is limited but not the treasure of all that we experienced together! We are not saying good
bye just taking a temporary  time out till we meet again my awesome
soul sister. You shall remain in my heart forever. Thank you for  being
my Best, Forever Friend! I love you! Judy

The way you always listened with your huge heart.  You were compassionate and graceful every single day.  Oh mama our walks. You would take me by the hand and  listen.  Your beautiful laugh and smile.  So naturally silly and so easy to have fun  with. 
The way you  talked to the trees and the blue sky.   Your brisk walks and your sweaty hairline.Your endless grocery lists and dinner ideas. Oh mama  the mammy you  became. You poured  your huge heart into eight more babies.   Showing them now how beautifully wonderful a woman can be.  
Mom my life will never ever be as full.  I pray that you are taking long walks again and we are enjoying the same blue sky day.

My Momma. your were the kindest, most selfless person I will ever love. You exuded patience and the softest yet strongest presence every single day.  When Dava and I were kids you could not yell; it just was  not in you. My whole life I worried about you because I could not imagine this world without you. Losing you slowly was cruel and unthinkable Mom, but possibly the only way I could survive  it.  You knew  it was happening and you were so brave and full of love while facing  such an evil disease. 
Every time I shop with my Omi and wait for her to make decisions I will see you.  Every time my "little Jetta" , Frannie ,  pushes buttons,  I will hear your laughter.  When Leo and I are enjoying the trees, waves, and trails I will feel you next to us and hear you thanking God out loud for all his nature. I am so  blessed that they are pieces of you my Mom.
I ache knowing I will never again hear you say 'Tar'  on the phone,  crack your gum,  and laugh with the kids. 
Everything has been sad but also a bit brighter since Sunday Momma. The sunset, the crisp mornings. These are the things you love and I know you are able to enjoy them again! 
I know we will hold each other again Momma please reach out to us and let us know you are feeling so good in Heaven sweet Momma.

I love you mammy so much, I remember when we would make cookies. I would always want to use this one tool and the tool was not used for cookies so mammy would always say maybe next time. All the food mammy made was so delicious. I also remember mammy babysitting me and she would take me to barns and noble. She would start looking at books, while I went and played with the toys. I wish I could do it all one more time with you, I miss you and love you so much. 

I remember going over to mammy and poppy’s house for Christmas and mammy would always have to most delicious and Beautiful cookies on the counter and we would all eat two and beg mom for more. We all love you and miss you mammy. 

I remember Mrs. Rhodes always had a nice word to say, had a sense of calmness and peacefulness to her. So naturally pretty.   What a beautiful soul that will be missed.  Her spirit lives on through these precious grandchildren and mostly through her beautiful girls who are both amazing mother’s now that must have learned from her! 

I truly don't know anyone who listened or reacted better than Mammy did.  Her love for her family was unbounded. So many wonderful memories as my other mother.  I will miss her every day.  Tara and I will keep her memory alive with all the great stories, moments and plenty of "mammy cookies".  We love you Mammy and we know you're watching over us all.  Until we hug again.
