He was born on June 23, 1951 in Wilmington, NC, son of the late Irene Smith Blanton and Carl Jackson Blanton.
Gene retired from DuPont.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Deborah A. Blanton of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Shana Blanton Miller (Brian) of Leland, NC; son, Christopher Trent Blanton of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter; Kaitlyn Breann Blanton and grandson, Jackson Shay Miller.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Delco Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church 283 Kaiser Rd, Delco, NC 28426.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Delco Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Pasty Smith and Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Champion Cemetery in Delco, NC.
