Manuel "Dijay" Castillon

Manuel "Dijay" Castillon, age 68 passed peacefully on August 24th, 2024, surrounded by friends and family, beloved husband of Judith Gruber; loving father of Olivia Castillon, Matthew (Claire Lee) Castillon; devoted brother of Jean Castillon, Lani Acapuyan, the late Shirley Bartolome, and the late Divina Samson; dear brother in law, and cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Cherished friend of so many around the world. Dijay was raised in poverty in the Philippines. Despite these challenging circumstances he became a tennis legend, rising to be the National Tennis Champion of the Philippines. His good works, deeds and generosity to others will always be honored. Interment Wednesday, August 28, 2024, 3pm, at Memorial Park Cemetery 9900 N. Gross Point Road, Skokie. Celebration of life will follow at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home 111 Skokie BIvd, Wilmette, IL 60091 from 4pm until 7pm.
