Lucille Gordon, 92, of New York City, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2021. The cause of death was COVID-19. Lucille, a lifelong resident of New York, was a graduate of the High School of Music and Art (now LaGuardia High School), received her BA in Art History from Queens College, and her MLS (Masters in Library Science) from Pratt University. After a successful career in book publishing, she founded and ran a Marketing/Advertising agency, Gordon Associates, specializing in marketing books to technical libraries. A lifelong student of art and architectural history as well as archeology, Lucille was an enthusiastic participant in digs in the Middle East. She volunteered as a Docent in Central Park, leading educational tours for five years. Lucille later devoted many years to researching, and drafting a biography of Jacob Wrey Mould, the lesser-known third architect of Central Park who created the majority of its decorative elements, such as Bethesda Terrace. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Terri (Peter) Dubin, Jamie Gordon, and Ellen Gordon, and grandchildren Lindsay and Noah Dubin.
