So great to catch up with George’s legacy/family today at Shiva.  So fortunate to have worked for and be welcomed into George and his family.   I pray for all of you as I know George lives in all of us.  Such a giving and heartfelt soul.   Love you all.   Sean

An honor and a pleasure to have know this very special man. Introduced to me by his beloved Fern, his warmth, love for others and incredible business savvy should be remembered. Everybody's friend, George. Will miss you.

Fern, Wendy, and Family,

My heart breaks for your loss. George was a great man. He always had a smile on his face and he was so kind hearted. I think he got mad at me (visibly) once and came back and immediately apologized and I was so touched by that, because honestly he didn’t raise his voice or anything. I could just tell that he was upset because he seemed “flustered”.

Another favorite memory that I have with George was that he would frequently buy me lunch when he went out. One day he was going to Famous Dave’s and asked me to order. He wanted the “Louisiana style soup”….  So I repeated this to the person on the phone and their reply was “Gumbo?” I laughed. I went on a whim and said yes and then later confirmed with him that that was what he wanted and he enthusiastically said “Yes!”

George was such an amazing man. I came into his life in his later years, but he taught me that life does not cease to end with a number. He was so young at heart and he inspired me to be like him one day when I grow up! His character always so noble.

We would frequently talk about the books we were reading and he would always bring one to me, saying “I think you’ll like this one….  It’s about…” we talked about Ken Follett on end.

My husband and I are starting the road to adoption and these talks always take me back to my talks with George about adoption. A lot of my courage that I find today in undergoing this feat comes from his stories and wisdom surrounding it, as well as his ability to be so open. I usually hear his voice in my head when I’m in the “adoption space”.

He loved you guys sooooo soooo much and he was soo proud of all of you. 

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful man in my and other’s lives. He will surely be missed. And loved beyond measure.

May everthing now be peaceful. George we went to Roosavelt Highschool together, grew up in the same neighborhood. Courtland St. near Humboldt Park. You have always been special to me and I admired your initiative and business success. You were blessed with your family and they were blessed with you.  I looked forward to seeing you at highschool reunions.

How many many wonderful years our families have been friends and none more wonderful than George. His smile was contagious , his love and pride for his children and most of all his sweetheart Fern. Our sharing of life’s ups and downs struggles and joy only brings one closer together.  Now we share this beautiful soul George with the heavens above. How lucky they are 🙏🙏❤️❤️ the Kleiner family

I will always appreciate and remember George for his positive outlook, and thoughtful perspective. He was always so patient and generous with his time and shared his life lessons freely. I am grateful to have been a beneficiary of his kindness and wisdom. He was a mentor and a friend.
My thoughts are with Fern, and  the family that he loved so much.
May George Rest in Peace, after a life well lived.

We lost an amazing man this week and I will forever remember my dear dear cousin George. All those wonderful memories. I will always hold him dear in my heart.
