Frank Stern, 93, beloved husband of Ruth (nee Sender) for 70 years; loving father of Debbie Stern (Howard Freidin), Naomi Davenport, and Charlotte Stern (Dr. Steven Witzel); devoted Opa of Theresa Davenport, Rustin (April) Davenport, Thomas J. Davenport, David Freidin, Dr. Brian Freidin (Dr. Hannah Alpert), Michael Freidin, Zachary Witzel, Benjamin Witzel, and several great-grandchildren; brother of the late Max (Lorraine) Erlanger; uncle to cherished niece and nephews.
Born in Frankfort, Germany, Frank emigrated (eventually) to the United States following Kristallnacht. A docent and lecturer at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, he was a fierce defender of Israel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center or Magen David Adom.
