We are saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Flora Katsnelson (49) after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Dr. Flora Katsnelson was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, physician, and friend to all. Her vivacious personality and caring nature were one of a kind, as she lived to help those around her. Her brilliance was inspirational.
Flora was born in the former Soviet Union (Lvov) on June 27th, 1974, and lived in Ukraine, Poland, Austria, and Italy before arriving to the United States. Shortly after her arrival, she graduated as valedictorian from her high school followed by magna cum laude with honors from the University of Chicago. She completed her medical education at the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine and Internal Medicine training in Chicago. Professionally, Dr. Flora Katsnelson was an extraordinary physician, visionary business leader, and philanthropist.
Flora dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a strong, bright, elegant, and vibrant woman – a true role model. Her smile lit up the room and instantly made those around her feel safe and special, as a friend, mother, wife, and daughter. Philanthropically, Flora was a member of the international board of the Save A Child’s Heart Foundation and a president of its Chicago chapter.
Dr. Flora Katsnelson was the co-founder of the nationwide multispecialty healthcare organization USA Clinics Group, the parent company of USA Vein Clinics, USA Fibroid Centers, USA Vascular Centers, and USA Longevity Centers, as well as the founder of Northwest Health Institute, which was dedicated to providing high-quality and personalized primary care services. She was the recipient of many awards and has been a recognized leader in the healthcare industry.
Flora’s light will always live on in our hearts. Her magnetic personality, kind heart, devotion to those around her, salsa dance-loving energy, and caring nature will serve as a guide for those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace
A funeral service for Flora will be held Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette, Illinois 60091. Following the funeral service will be an interment at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, Illinois 60076.
