David Steven Tenner, 71, passed away on May 5, 2023 in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. David was born on June 1, 1951 in Chicago, where he lived his entire life. He was a scholar who pursued his interests of jazz history, political science, and poetry. David graduated from Jamieson Elementary School and Mather High School before attending Northwestern University for his BA with Distinction in History, graduating with honors in 1972. He then received his JD from the University of Chicago Law School in 1975, where he graduated in the top 15% of his class. David clerked under Justice Seymour Simon of the Illinois Appellate Court before pursuing both private practice and working directly under John J Casey Esq in the late 1970s.
David is survived by his brothers, Edward and Lawrence (Anne), and his devoted nieces, Elana and Miriam. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Evelyn and Irving.
A graveside service for immediate family will be held, with an online memorial to follow next year. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (AHA).
