Benjamin B. "Buddy" Cohen, 93, of Rancho Mirage, CA and Highland Park, IL. Beloved husband for 63 years of the late Bernice Grinker Cohen; cherished father of Jack (Nancy), Michael (Julie), Bruce (Lisa), and Julie (Ken) Podziba; adored grandfather of Jared (Rachel), Wyatt, Lindsay (Brandon), Alec (Niki), Alex, Joey, Max, Eliza, Ashley, and Alexa; loving brother of the late Lois (Howard) Hirschfield and the late Beverly Baum; loving brother-in-law of Joan (Grinker) Berke; extraordinary friend of Sue Quinlan. A force of nature, Buddy impacted all that he touched with the intensity of his love, the strength of his personality and the generosity of his spirit. While his family was his life, he felt honored to be an active supporter of many important charities, including the Jack and Mildred Cohen Religious School at Beth El Temple and the Bernice Cohen Infusion Center at Eisenhower Hospital in honor of his parents and his wife. Funeral service Monday, February 27, 11 AM, at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, 1175 Sheridan Rd, Highland Park. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva will be held at the synagogue Monday, from 4- 7:00 PM and Tuesday, February 28th, from 5-8PM at a family residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jack and Mildred Cohen Religious School at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El or the Eisenhower Medical Center Foundation.
