It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Balfura Lemer, née Henkin, of Skokie, Illinois on April 20, 2023. She is survived by her two children, Martha Byrne (Richard) and Matthew Lemer, MD (Scott Murphree), and two granddaughters, Margot and Liza. She was married to her college sweetheart, Sidney, for 55 years. She taught in the Chicago Public Schools for 45 years and cherished her time there. She was the best kind of friend, always there in every capacity. She was loved by all, even those she met briefly. She was an extraordinary person, who will be profoundly missed.
