Lawrence V. Priore

A loved one and a dear friend to many, Larry was born in Buffalo, NY to Lawrence Sr. and Lucille Weimer Priore and had one sister, Laurene Ferguson (née Priore).

Larry was a 1973 graduate of Amherst Central High School and went on to obtain a business degree from Villa Maria College. Following his graduation, Larry had a variety of jobs before starting his career with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, where he worked from July 17, 1989 until his retirement on February 1, 2019. His tenure at NFTA provided him with many experiences, exciting stories, and life-long friendships.

Larry leaves behind a great legacy as he was an absolute joy to be around, funny, generous beyond words, and always ready to help anyone who needed him. He used the things he loved and the skills he had to benefit others. As a season ticket holder since 1974, Larry was a devoted Bills fan and was always sharing his tickets with friends and family.

Though he had no children of his own, Larry was a devoted uncle to Joseph (Dawn Agee), John (Jami), Stephen (Nicole), and Robert (Kayla) Ferguson and an adored great uncle of Nora, Charles, Henry, Rosemary, Margaret, Grace, Mila, and Lillian Ferguson and Ace and Jett Carswell. In addition, Larry was treasured by his extended family and was a beloved neighbor in his community. Larry treated everyone with respect, love, and compassion which endeared him to many over the course of his lifetime and will make him dearly missed.

Family will be present for visitation on Monday from 3 – 7 PM at the PERNA, DENGLER, ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 1671 Maple Road, Williamsville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at St. Leo the Great Church, Amherst, NY at 9 AM. Please assemble at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church 885 Sweet Home Rd., Amherst, NY.
