Rosby Rudolph Hopkins, 86, died Thursday July 12, 2012 at Martin General Hospital. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. E. T. Vinson officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
He was the son of the late William Lee Hopkins and Lillian Griffin.
Rosby was a retired employee of Carolina Telephone Co., and a member of West End Baptist Church where he served many years in the Teller Room, he also served in the US Navy during WWII. On May 1, 1971 he married Florine Coffield who died November 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by a sister Audrey Leggett, and a brother Cortez Hopkins.
He was survived by a daughter Deborah Manning and her husband Tommy of Williamston, Step son Neal Goddard of Henderson, Brothers Billy Bob Hopkins and wife Mary of Williamston, Pete Hopkins of Williamston, Step Grandchildren Jason Goddard and wife Leila of Winston Salem, Derick Edwards and wife Malarie of Henderson.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
