Mary Jane Harrison Hollis

Mary Jane Harrison Hollis, 84, died Thursday June 16, 2011 at In Patient Hospice in Greenville. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel in Williamston with Rev Brian Busch officiating; burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery.

Mrs Hollis was born on February 7, 1927 in Bear Grass, daughter of the late James Redmond and Mary Harrison Ballard. She was a member of the Hamilton Baptist Church and was retired from West Point Pepperell. Mrs Hollis was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, loved her family, friends and her church but God most of all.

She enjoyed spending time with her family making special memories and the simple things of life. She also enjoyed her home, flowers and garden.

She was married to James David Hollis who preceded her in death. Sisters Frances Bahney, Betty Glisson, and Eva Harrison, and brothers Buck Harrison and J. R. Harrison also preceded her in death.

Survivors are daughters Shirley Sawyer and husband Loyal of Greenville, and Louinda Jones and husband Wayne of Virginia Beach, grandchildren David Sawyer and wife Wanda of Hassell, Mary Ann Nickerson of Greenville, Alice Stephenson and husband Jon and Ruth Jones both of Virginia Beach, great grandchildren Stephen Sawyer and, Jamie

Nickerson both of Greenville, Nicholas Sawyer and Mara Beth Sawyer both of Hassell, Rachael Stephenson and Daniel Stephenson both of Virginia Beach, and 2 great great grandchildren, sisters Florence Souza of Norfolk VA and Dorothy Adams of Plymouth, brothers Frank Harrison of Mount Olive, Paul Harrison of Norfolk VA, Norman Harrison of California, and Bobby Grier of Georgia.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston and other times at the residence 306 North Front St Hamilton NC
