Kent William Hall, a beloved father, grandfather, and community leader, passed away at the age of 78 on November 19th at Storypoint East Lansing, Michigan. Born in Flint, Michigan, Kent was the cherished son of Fern Evelyn Annis and Albert Hall. He grew up in Linden, Michigan, where he graduated from Linden High School in 1964, serving as class president and earning the title of "best dancer." He furthered his education with an Associate's Degree from Flint Junior College.
Kent's athletic prowess was evident as he set records in track and field during his school years and continued to compete in the Senior Olympics, pole-vaulting into his 60s. He had aspirations to compete in the javelin event upon turning 80.
A proud veteran, Kent served in the Army, earning numerous commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. His dedication to service extended beyond the military as he became vice president of "Honor for All," advocating for the recognition of PTSD as PTSI to reduce stigma.
Kent's professional life was marked by a successful career in home improvement sales, where he was recognized as Salesman of the Year at All Weather Seal. His commitment to community was evident through his involvement with the Williamston city council, the American Legion as Adjutant for post 296, and the planning of Memorial Day parades, earning him the 2015 Williamston Community Impact Award.
Kent is survived by his children, Stephen Hall (Melanie), Lanie Brown (Shawn), Kristian Hall, and step-sons Pat (Dana) and Greg Stiff; grandchildren Madaline Thomas (Wyatt), Emma, Evelyn, and Hudson Hall, and Colin Brown; and his sister Kim Annis (William Warren). He was predeceased by his wife Cheryl, siblings Don and Gary Hall, his parents and stepfather Robert Annis.
In memory of Kent, donations may be made to Honor For All. He will be remembered as a loving, patriotic, and fun individual who touched many lives.
