Kathryn Lu Schaude of Williamston, Michigan, passed away on October 16, 2024, at home. Kathy was born September 29, 1943, in Stockbridge, Michigan, the daughter of Simon Lyle and Lucy J. Engle. She grew up in Dexter and was a graduate of Dexter High in 1962. Kathy received a Bachelor of Science at Michigan State University in 1965. She continued her education at Eastern Michigan University where she received her Home Economic Education. Kathy worked in many fields but most were based around helping others. She worked at Tamarack Rehabilitation Center/Hope Network, Gateway Community Services, and Student Support Services at Michigan Department of Education. She taught at Bath High School and in the Lansing School District. Her first teaching job was at Adrian Madison where she met her husband, Lee Edward Schaude. They married April 2, 1966. The majority of their lives centered around Williamston. They had two girls: Leslie Elaine and Lisa. Kathy’s pride and joy were her five grandchildren: Tyler, Flynn, and Esabella Powers, Elaina and Shelton Schuesler. Kathy was preceded by her husband Lee and daughter Leslie. She is survived by daughter Lisa and husband Patrick, former son-in-law Joe and wife Cyndi Powers, her brother John and wife Jill and their five children, whom she held dear.
Kathy was a member of Crossroads Community Church where she loved to volunteer with VBS, luncheons, and gardening. She joined the Williamston Senior Center in the recent years and looked forward to go every week.
Kathryn had a fulfilled life where she touched so many people in a positive way. She made fiends everywhere she went.
A memorial service will be held at Williamston Crossroads Community Church on November 9, at 11:00am. Light refreshments and gathering will be offered after Memorial.
