Joyce E. Doty

Joyce was born January 17, 1940 in St. Ignace, Michigan to Carlton and Madeline (Bennett) Place. She loved making blankets with her mother, baking, and professionally decorating cakes for all kinds of special occasions. She liked to be outside and especially enjoyed camping and gardening. She rode motorcycles and snowmobiles and liked to go to bike rallies up north with her husband. Above all, she loved her family and her bird, Rudy.

She is survived by her children, Gail (Bob) Hardy, Bennie (Diane) Hallam, Glenda (Garret) Hawkey, Gloria (Tom Weadle) Doty, and Ginger Fullerton; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, Terry (Leelyn) Place and Emery (Sharon) Place; her niece, Brenda; and her nephew, Ronnie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Doty; and her mother and her father.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes – Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, Michigan, 48895. Family will welcome friends on Saturday, March 8 from 10am to the 11am funeral service at the chapel. Burial will follow in Webberville Cemetery in Webberville, Michigan.
