Brenda Gail Bartkowiak

On November 2, 2021 Brenda Bartkowiak, loving mother of three, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of two, passed away suddenly at home at the age of 71. Brenda was born on August 11, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Perry, Michigan, graduating from Perry High School in 1968 and going on to marry and raise 3 children while perusing her college career. She graduated from Northwood University in 1998. Brenda had a successful career and retired from Auto-Owners Insurance Company in 2014.

Brenda's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, as well as spending time with her group of best friends, who had monthly dinners together and will miss her dearly. She loved to serve others and her home was considered a gathering place by many. Brenda was a faith filled woman who prayed her rosary daily and served her church faithfully and just wanted everyone to "make it to heaven so we can all be together". Brenda was a selfless soul who was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all. Her example of faith and loving kindness has truly left its mark on all who knew her.

Brenda is predeceased by her parents; John and Helen Bartkowiak and her daughter; Stephanie Marie Dunckel. She is survived by her two children; Angela Dunckel and Ryan (Bernadette) Dunckel, her six grandchildren; Kyler, Caleb and Carter Mattoon, Gianna Dunckel, Corey and Samantha Harrist and her two great-grandchildren; Rosalie and Audrey Harrist, as well as five brothers and sisters, one aunt, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will take place at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home in Williamston, MI on November 10, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a Rosary at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on November 11, 2021 at 11am at St. Mary Church in Williamston with a time for visitation starting at 10am. Flowers may be sent to Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home in Williamston, MI. Donations may be made to St Mary Catholic School in Williamston, MI.
