Amelia Norton

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday July 29th at Gorsline-Runciman & Tiffany Funeral Homes Chapel. Burial will follow at Summit Cemetery in Williamston and then a dinner at Crossroads United Methodist Church, Williamston, MI. Arrangements are by Gorsline-Runciman & Tiffany Funeral Homes.

Amelia Norton was born in Retschischtsche located in the former Prussia, now Ukraine, to Johann and Adeline Weiss on September 20, 1935. In April of 1952, at the age of 16, Amelia immigrated to the United States with her parents and siblings and settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kenosha is where she met and then married her husband Brian Norton on November 7, 1953. Brian and Amelia moved to Michigan where Amelia was a magnificent and loving home maker and mother to nine children.

Amelia is preceded in death by her parents Johann and Adeline Weiss, her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Brian. Her and Brian’s beloved fourth child Bryan George who passed away in infancy, a loved grandson Brian G. Bradley, her siblings Eduard, Else, August and Reinholt.

Amelia is survived by her children Elaine Bradley, Valerie Olson (Keith Olson), Bob Norton, Bruce Norton, Deborah Martin (Stan Martin), Glenn Norton (Mona Norton), Helen Pease (Jim Pease) and Diann Tori. She is survived by siblings Ewald Weiss, Helen Klicko, Pauline Rausch, Erna Ogren. Her grandchildren, Christopher Bradley, Bridget Bradley-Cousino, Danielle Shields, Brady Olson, Sherilyn Olson, Hannah Pierot, Harley Olson, Bridget Baca, Kendrah Baca, Myles Baca, Amelia Pease, Gunner Pease, Taylor Tori, Mitchell Tori, Brendan Tori and Selina Norton. Amelia is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bob Norton, Bruce Norton, Glenn Norton, Gunner Pease, Taylor Tori, Christopher Bradley, Jim Pease and Keith Olson.
