Robert Bruce Schmidt

Robert Bruce Schmidt, age 83, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Bob was born in Painesville, Ohio and attended Riverside High School, Class of 1959. He taught Information Systems at Auburn Career Center and also at Lakeland Community College. He was very proud of being a Veteran, serving in the Navy and then retiring from the Coast Guard Reserves. Bob was a member of Olive Branch Christian Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. He served in several capacities. He always enjoyed singing in high school and continued being a part of the choir and men's quartet at Olive Branch. Emilio Pesante, Choir Director, was a very special friend of his. He also was so thankful to Pastor Richard Cline for his love and spiritual guidance. Bob wanted a "pen pal" while in the Navy, so Bob and Barb wrote for two years before meeting, and just celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year. He is also survived by daughter, Jennifer Smith and grandson Sawyer Smith in Dallas, TX. A Celebration of Life Service will be at Olive Branch on November 16, 2024 at 11:00am.
