Commander Nagle was born in Little Silver, NJ to the late Richard and Delia Nagle. Upon entering the navy on November 9th, 1944 Commander Nagle served honorably for 30 years earning many medals, awards commendations and ribbons before retiring in 1974.
Commander Nagle is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bertie Lee Nagle, his son Richard Charles Nagle and his wife Kali of Williamsburg, Va., Robert David Statler stepson of Estero, Fl., five grandchildren;
George R. Nagle and wife Jamie of Hendersonville, NC., Jeffrey C. Nagle of Williamsburg, VA., Megan P. Gucwa and husband John Michael of Sterling, Va., Jamie Statler of Arlington, Va., Tara Cunningham and husband Scott of Manassas Park, VA. Also surviving Cdr. Nagle are five great grandchildren; Lily Nagle, Kamille Nagle, Annabelle Nagle, Luke Cunningham and Corey Cunningham.
Commander Nagle will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery on February 1, 2018 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in Dick’s honor may be made to The United States Navy Memorial.
