IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
"Pat" Brown Johnson, a long-time resident of Charlotte, NC prior to moving to Williamsburg, VA, died August 7, 2022. She was born on September 16, 1931, the last of the children born to Wilmot and Gertrude Brown of Hamlet, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; son, Stacy Floyd Gibson, Jr.; and husband of 43 years, Robert (Bob) Eugene Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Gibson Heck, and husband, Michael, and her step-daughters Andrea Johnson Johnson (Carson) and Jalaina Johnson Kraeff (Kyrill); grandchildren Andrea Kirkley, Stephanie Rohrbach (Brian), Christopher Gibson, Charity McQueen, Agape McQueen Bridwell (Michael), Jake Johnson, Harrison Johnson, Arianna Heck (Chris Greene), Amberly Tarantina (Bryan), Ben Heck (Maddison) and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pat worked as a bookkeeper in her early career before becoming a paralegal for over thirty years with various law firms in Charlotte. She loved the beach, all animals, bingo, Christmas, Scrabble, basketball (she played in high school), and "her" Tarheels. She was devoted to her brothers and sisters, and adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the life of almost any party, made friends easily and had a ready smile and a quick wit. She leaves her family with enough stories to make it through almost anything with a smile—the legacy of a life well-lived.
Her family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the special members of the staff of Windsor Meade who cared for her so lovingly the last three years. A Celebration of Life will be held in Virginia in the spring. Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5041.
