COURTER, Patricia “Patt” Lynn, 77, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 20,1946 to Eugene and Irene Nagy. Patt attended St. Peter’s High School and then later, Rider College where she earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert (Bob), her three children and their spouses, Rob and Dede; Scott and Dana; and Kelly and Mike; her eight amazing grandkids Robbie, Mason, Layne, Ian, Maddie, Will, Grace, and Raegan; and two beautiful great-granddaughters Emery and Amelia. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Eugene and Irene Nagy. Patt enjoyed connecting with people, creating memories with her friends and family, and constantly giving her time and talents to others. She loved cooking, traveling, the beach (or “shore” if you are from Jersey), collecting quilts, shopping, antiques, and spoiling her grandkids. Patt served alongside her husband for 33 years in various capacities within the Air Force. She had a passion for volunteering and cared deeply about her military community. Two organizations that were near and dear to her heart were the Fisher House Foundation and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO). Patt served as Trustee of the Fisher House and through her vision, started a scholarship fund for military children and spouses which has awarded over $35M in scholarships. Patt also was a sister of the local chapter of the PEO. The primary goal of the organization is to support women with financial assistance to advance through education. Patt left an indelible mark with her kind and gentle spirit, deep love for her family and friends, and her strong Catholic faith. She was loved and cherished by many. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA. An interment will then follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of donations to the Fisher House Foundation or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
