IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
Johnny Bruce Wiggins, age 56, passed away peacefully on June 13th. He was born in Newport News in 1962 and was a lifelong resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, where he graduated from Bruton High School in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Gladys Wiggins.
Left to celebrate his memory are his beloved wife Margaret (Meg) Finch Wiggins and his stepson Sean Arietta, as well as his brothers Oneal Wiggins (wife Jennifer), Greg Wiggins (wife Donna), and his sister Tammy Schumacher (husband James). He left two nieces, Brittany Hunt, and Jessica Wiggins, five nephews, Aaron Wiggins, Daniel Wiggins, Jeffrey Wiggins, Jacob Wiggins, and Hunter Schumacher. He had one grand-niece, Georgia Hunt, and one grand-nephew Luke Wiggins. Johnny also left dozens of cousins with whom he was very close, who will mourn his passing.
Johnny was a carpenter, a surveyor, and most recently worked at Walmart as an assistant manager in the produce department. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved nature, from the mountains-to-the-sea, and never missed an opportunity to gather with friends and family for a good oyster roast. He also never missed a NASCAR race, something else he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
On Saturday, June 29th, a celebration of his life will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, at 4PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Virginia (hospiceofvirginia.com), or your local ASPCA (www.aspca.com).
Online condolences for the family may be made to www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
