Jackie Chandler Brabon, 69, of Williamsburg, VA passed away on November 7, 2016 at the Hospice House of Williamsburg. She was born July 14, 1947 in Kenova, WV and graduated from Granby High School, Norfolk, VA. She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Owen Chandler and her mother, Helen Chandler Gruenke.
Jackie worked 17 years at the Naval Air Reworks facility in Norfolk and was a Division Secretary. She met the love of her life on March 10, 1976 and was married to James (Jim) W. Brabon on November 20, 1976 at the Bayside Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach, VA. She then had her dream honeymoon in Honolulu, HI. Jackie and Jim lived in Virginia Beach and started their family, until moving to Williamsburg, in 1989. Locally, she was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. She was also a devoted mother to her two daughters, Lisa and Jamie, traveling with them to all their school activities and sporting events through the years. She continued this tradition for Lisa and Jamie until both graduated from college. When she wasn’t involved with her daughters, many of her fondest joys and memories were with her husband, as they traveled throughout the world vacationing on their own, or with him on business.
Jackie is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, James W. Brabon of Williamsburg, VA; oldest daughter, Lisa Woodward and her husband, Abram Woodward of Sparks, NV, and their two children, Annabeth and Andrew Woodward; youngest daughter, Jamie Cohen and her husband, Dr. Britt Cohen of Williamsburg, VA and their two children, Hailey and Brayden Cohen.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond, Rd., Williamsburg, VA, followed by a celebration of Jackie’s life.
