OBITUARY
Elizabeth Travers Tyler
15 July, 1963 – 2 December, 2017
IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
Elizabeth "Liz” Tyler took her last breath peacefully at Sentara Hospital on December 2 in Williamsburg, VA at the age of 54. Her loving family will sadly and sorely miss her.
Liz, whom her family affectionately called “Bet,” was born on July 15, 1963, in Gloucester, VA to Alma Stokes and Samuel Tyler. She graduated at the top of her class from Gloucester High School, VA in 1981. She married her devoted husband, now of 30 years, and moved to Yorktown, VA where she mothered twin boys and a daughter. She found her way into the hearts of so many people by always staying true to herself and remembering where she came from; which was a country girl who had a small frame but a large soul. Her words were always full of knowledge, laughter and a few “SOB’s” to help get you through your day or guide you through life. The love she had for her family and job always soared through despite her illness. Liz knew one day her life would be cut short, so she took her time and embedded every bit of herself into her granddaughter who will always be a beautiful reflection of her.
Liz is survived by her husband, Tony Fauntleroy; children, Anthony Fauntleroy, Antwon Fauntleroy and Brittainy Fauntleroy; granddaughter, Arianna Freeman of Yorktown, VA; siblings, Barbara Young, Susie Harvey, Geraldine Smith, Herman Tyler and Sarah Griffin of Gloucester, VA.
A viewing will be held on December 10 from 6-9 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA, where the funeral will commence the following day on December 11 at 1:00 pm with a repast to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Liz's life.
